“my story isn’t over yet;” its not just a phrase. i actually have that tattooed on my shoulder. i’ve had that tattoo for about three years now. for my first tattoo, i wanted something symbolic, something meaningful. i went on pinterest and came across the semicolon movement. just in case you’re wondering what the semicolon is :
“It represents continuance. Authors usually use the semicolon when they choose not to end the sentence. You are the author and the sentence is your life, and you’re choosing to continue.”
-Robert T Muller
it’s also a symbol to bring awareness to suicide and other mental issues. i decided that this was the perfect. for a person who’s had four suicide attempts and who’s lost a friend to suicide, i thought it would be the perfect reminder for me that life goes on.
i’m going to be honest, some days it felt like life couldn’t go on and that to end my own life would be the best solution. i made a vow for my 29th birthday that i would never try to commit suicide again. that i would choose to not end my life again. i’m choosing to continue and so should you. #KeepGoing #ChooseLife
